The Plumbers Apprentice - Cannon Street Station

Worshipful Company of Plumbers 31

The Company Hall originally stood in Chequers Yard, Bush Lane near to the Chuch of St Michael in Crooked Lane (patron saint of company)

This hall was destroyed in 1666 and rebuilt in 1690 and used until it was demolished to make way for Cannon Street Station in 1983.

The statue below is in the main entrance on the site of the old hall and is of a young apprentice representing the future of the profession.

James 1, who was not noted for his hygiene and maybe needed the plumbers professional help granted the company their charter in 1611.
